Barry speaks on the Arrive & Thrive Career Podcast

Many emergency front-line workers and defence force veterans experience Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), with many people turning to multiple forms of therapy and medication to manage and deal with the symptoms of PTSD.

Meet Barry Randall the Director & Founder of Operation Soul Surf, founded in 2021 on the Mornington Peninsula to provide opportunities for first responders and veterans impacted by trauma to experience the healing power of surfing and the ocean as an alternative pathway for Post Traumatic Growth and for better mental and physical health.

Barry has an incredible story and a generous approach to the work he does. He has been a police officer for 30 years and continues to serve his local community both in and out of the water. He shares his own challenges with PTSD and what he found from surfing and how passes this onto others.

You can learn more about his incredible program through their website and Instagram. You can also follow Barry on LinkedIn for his updates.

About the Arrive & Thrive Career Podcast

The Arrive & Thrive Podcast was created initially by two mates, Daniel Lunardi & Tyson Day, who shared a love for career education and development. After the tragic and unexpected loss of Daniel Lunardi in February 2022, Tyson now continues their vision, inviting people on the show to share stories and learnings in a bid to help others develop meaningful careers and thrive in their chosen pursuits. We commemorate Dan’s soul with the honour segment, “What are you roaring about?” dedicated to the loving memory of Dan. Learn more about Arrive & Thrive and their programs at arrivethrive.com.au.
